It’s ten-to-six on Tuesday evening. Supper Club hasn’t officially started, but the kitchen at Manitoba Possible’s 825 Sherbrook Street location is already alive.

Recreation Facilitator, McKenna, is on a mission. She opens one cupboard, then another, then a third. She digs through shelves and drawers searching for the hand mixer. She finds the whisk attachments first.

But not the handle.

She pauses the search as each person enters the kitchen, greeting every arrival with excitement and details about tonight’s meal: chicken burgers, tater tots, and pudding for dessert.

By 6:00 the room is packed.
Before Jordan Sobey sat behind the wheel and held the adaptive driving controls in his hands, he faced a challenge many Manitobans with disabilities know all too well: limited access to reliable, accessible transportation.

Jordan became a wheelchair user after being diagnosed with a rare, incurable cancer. Living in rural Manitoba, he relied on others to drive him to appointments, errands, and daily tasks.

“Without an accessible vehicle, I couldn’t take myself to the doctor, to get groceries, or visit with friends,” he says. “I had lost a big piece of my independence.”

That changed when Jordan connected with Manitoba Possible’s Assistive Technology program. Assistive Technology is a broad term for equipment or software that helps people with disabilities maintain or improve their daily life.

Manitoba Possible re-launched the Assistive Technology program in 2024 after hearing from across our organization about the growing need. Employment teams emphasized how the right supports can break down barriers to in the workplace, while therapists highlighted the impact on social inclusion for children. In the first year, we were able to provide $70,000 of equipment to 62 Manitobans.

Jordan was one of those Manitobans, receiving vehicle modifications including hand controls for accelerating and braking, and a spinner knob for steering. For the first time in five years, he could sit behind the wheel and get himself where he needed to go.

Manitoba Possible’s employment services started in the 1950s, mirroring the broader evolution of disability rights in the province and across the country: limited opportunity towards greater inclusion.

Our employment services began under the sheltered workshop model, where individuals with disabilities were not given equitable opportunities. In sheltered workshops, people were segregated from the mainstream workforce, earning below minimum wage or nothing at all, doing task-oriented work with very few opportunities to advance.

In 1963, our ‘Industrial Workshop’ began to focus on assessment and training, recognizing the importance of building skills and professional growth. And in 1976, the workshop took another important step, becoming the ‘Employment Preparation Centre.’ The name change reflected a growing awareness: that people with disabilities should be supported to find meaningful employment in the community.

Meanwhile, a Canadian inventor was helping transforming the future of mobility.

After World War II, many veterans were returning home with spinal cord injuries. Klein's design included key features still used today: a joystick, individual wheel drives, and a tighter turning radius.

1980s–1990s: Power Wheelchairs go Mainstream

In 1980, Manitoban, Tom Landy, became one of the youngest children in Canada to receive a power wheelchair at the age of four (you can read Tom's Explore Possible blog post the critical importance of timely access to mobility).

In 1985, the wheelchair program started to include repairs to motorized wheelchairs. The Industrial Workshop evolved to a more equitable, community-based model. A formal wheelchair services program was created to take on the work of repairs, maintenance and distribution of both power and manual wheelchairs for Manitobans.

One of those early electronic technicians was Mo, who joined Manitoba Possible (then Society for Manitobans for Disabilities) in 1997 and has spent nearly three decades repairing and maintaining power wheelchairs.

Red River Co-op’s annual Fuel Good Day on September 16 has once again demonstrated the power of community, raising a record-breaking $130,000 to support Manitoba Possible’s Assistive Technology program. This milestone reflects Red River Co-op’s deep commitment to building stronger, more inclusive communities.

“We’re deeply grateful to Red River Co-op and their members and customers for making this year’s Fuel Good Day a record-breaking success,” says Lindsey Cooke, CEO Manitoba Possible. “Through their incredible support we will expand access to essential assistive technology to children, youth and adults in communities that Red River Co-op serves, ensuring full and equal participation for more Manitobans.”

This donation will directly transform lives, allowing Manitoba Possible’s to expand their Assistive Technology program. Whether it’s a power-assist device that enhances the independence of a manual wheelchair user, or an iPad that helps someone communicate, assistive technology opens doors and breaks down barriers to inclusion.

On Tuesday, September 16, community members can fill their tanks and fuel change at Red River Co-op's Fuel Good Day in support of Manitoba Possible. For every litre of gas pumped at all Red River Co-op Gas Bars, seven-cents will be donated — the highest amount in the fundraiser’s history — to support Manitobans with disabilities access critical assistive technology.

“We are incredibly grateful for Red River Co-op's commitment to creating a more inclusive and accessible community for all,” says Lindsey Cooke, CEO of Manitoba Possible. “Fuel Good Day showcases the incredible impact of community coming together, providing access to specialized equipment for Manitobans with disabilities.”

Manitoba Possible’s Assistive Technology program helps individuals of all ages access tools and equipment that support independence at home, at work, and in the community. This could mean a power-assist device for a manual wheelchair, allowing someone to head out on adventures, explore nature trails, or attend community events. It might be a custom-fitted helmet that accommodates cochlear implants so a child can play hockey with their friends. Or it could be a communication device that gives someone a voice—allowing them to express themselves, build relationships, and participate fully in everyday life. The Assistive Technology program is made possible thanks to the generous support of donors and community events like Red River Co-op’s Fuel Good Day.

"Fuel Good Day is one of the most powerful examples of how our members and communities come together to make a meaningful difference,” says Craig Gilpin, CEO of Red River Co-op. “This year, we're proud to support Manitoba Possible and help break down barriers for Manitobans living with disabilities. Every litre pumped is more than just fuel — it’s a step toward a more inclusive and accessible future."

Every year on Fuel Good Day, Co-ops across Western Canada donate a minimum of five-cents per litre of fuel purchased at participating gas bars to local charities. Since Fuel Good Day started in 2017, Red River Co-op has donated over $465,000 to local non-profit organizations.
Saving Circle is one course part of Manitoba Possible’s Financial Empowerment program. It’s designed for Manitobans with disabilities living on low income, offering tailored education in budgeting, goal setting, banking, and financial planning.

While it’s a course about money and numbers, much of the learning comes from very human experiences. The class is small. Participants bring lived experience, and they learn together. There’s room to ask questions and to build trust.

“Everyone shared things, which I liked. They shared things that I didn't know. I shared things they didn’t know. We helped each other out here.”

Angel Prefontaine Gibson has been leading financial empowerment programs with Manitoba Possible for eight years. She works with the class to learn about financial empowerment through eight areas: money choices, asset building, community economic development, budgeting, financial institutions, credit, debt and living a simpler life. Each component is designed to help them be successful in their future money choices.

“Learning these skills takes time and practice,” Angel says. “The best way to start is really asking yourself ‘do I need it or do I want it’? It’s a great first step for everyone to learn this one basic skill.”

Over the course, participants are supported to save up to $250, which is matched 3:1 for a total of up to $1,000. When they complete the course, that savings goes towards essential things like dental care, tuition, assistive devices, home improvement, or groceries.

Laying the Groundwork

The program began in 1996, originally known as the Ethno-Cultural Program, as the result of a research study carried out in partnership with Manitoba Possible (then Society for Manitobans with Disabilities) and organizations part of our Self-Help Clearinghouse.

All three—Flaviano from Phillipines, Tiffany from China, and Ghebre from Ethiopia—were recruited for their ability to bridge cultures and build trust within their own communities. As Cultural Resource Facilitators, they help newcomers with disabilities, in their first language, to navigate unfamiliar systems - from healthcare to education to social services. The program is the only of its kind in Canada.

Back then, the work was new. They hosted picnics, attended cultural festivals and met with community leaders. And, while promoting the program to new clients, they gave presentations to school divisions, law enforcement, and healthcare staff, helping service providers understand culturally appropriate care.

The role of a cultural resource facilitator was often misunderstood.

“Lots of people assumed we were language interpreters,” recalls Tiffany. “It’s not wordfor-word translation. I remember in a meeting with a teacher, they asked one short question, I added four or five sentences to explain what the meaning is to mom, and then listened to mom ask questions and share her experiences. The teacher was looking confused. But I’m there to make sure that mom understands what they’re asking her and why they’re asking it.”

Introducing Disability in Canada

A big piece of their work continues to be helping newcomers relearn what it means to have a disability.

“Back home, people with disabilities face stigma or shame,” explains Ghebre. “They're not keen on exposing themselves or seeking help until we explain that we are in Canada— they can seek support and help.”

Their work is also deeply personal and dependent on trust and relationships. Flaviano remembers meeting a client hours after their home burned down, helping the family secure immediate support. Tiffany recalls delivering life-altering news to a family whose child was born prematurely and supporting them through multiple surgeries and life stages since. But over time, there's an intentional shift.

“One of the objectives is that our clients, in the long run, once they’re fully oriented to the systems, they’ll be able to advocate for themselves,” explains Flaviano.

“Seeing that they’re successful, hearing those success stories, it makes me say to them, ‘I’m happy you are well,’” he adds. “The fewer calls you get, the happier you become.”

Cultural Resource Facilitators become trusted allies whose work has a lasting impact on the lives of the families they support.

“I was in line at the Tim Hortons drive through. The uncle of my client was in front of me. He started waving at me. He recognized me in my car,” laughs Flaviano.

“When a client calls and says, ‘Can I take you to Tim Hortons?’ that’s when you know you’ve done a good job,” says Ghebre.

The Power of Teamwork

What started around a small, shared desk has rippled outward. Their work has helped inspire a national effort called the National Cultural Brokers Project aimed at defining the role and strengthening the identity of cultural brokers across the country, helping bridge the gap between newcomers and the systems that support them.

“What keeps me doing this work for 25 years is how special and unique our team members are,” Tiffany says. “We all come from different cultures and backgrounds. We understand each other and we support each other. We’re a big family.”

After 25 years, their commitment hasn’t wavered— they’re still driven to help shape a more inclusive and accessible province, and country, for all.

Learn more about our Newcomer Navigation and Support.

25 Years of Cultural Connection

Spotlight on the Team Behind 75 Years of Manitoba Possible

As Manitoba Possible celebrates 75 years, we’re highlighting the diverse

Introduce yourself! What do you do at Manitoba Possible?

I support a group of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech Language Pathologists and an Audiology Team who work with children across the province in their homes, day cares and programs. I’ve been in this role for five years. Prior to that, I worked as a Speech Language Pathologist for 22 years at Manitoba Possible. One of my favourite parts of my job is meeting with staff to brainstorm how to best meet the needs of individual clients and families.

Can you share a favourite memory from your time working here?

There are so many. Professionally, I would say some of my favourite memories are when parents were taken aback by a new word or skill that their child did, especially when the parent made that happen. Those ‘aha’ moments are priceless. Personally, I am so grateful for the connections we’ve made with each other. A group of us travelled to a conference in Minneapolis many years ago. The content of the conference was incredible but we also shared so may laughs along the way.

If you could swap jobs with anyone in the organization for a week, who would it be?

I would swap jobs with Jaylene Irwin, Program Manager of Recreation, Leisure and Accessible Sport. That program touches lives in such a meaningful way, with the primary goal of people having fun. For me, I have always wanted our clients to be able to do the things they love with the people they love and Jaylene’s program fosters this in so many incredible ways.

As we celebrate 75 years, can you share your aspirations or hopes on our mission towards creating an inclusive and accessible society?

We have such a motivated and dynamic team at Manitoba Possible. This team, with strong leadership and a supportive board, is always advocating and looking at improving programs and services in an innovative way. Our new strategic priorities foster an environment that allows for growth through person centred service, innovation and sustainability. We have the opportunity to support people in doing what is meaningful to them and to be heard. By walking alongside our consumers, we can listen to what the barriers are and look for solutions together to make achieving their dreams truly accessible. It is an honour to walk this path.

Introduce yourself! What do you do at Manitoba Possible?

In my role, I support newcomers with disabilities by helping them navigate essential services. Each day brings unique challenges and opportunities—whether it's guiding a client through the process of accessing a particular service or helping them communicate effectively with various systems. My goal is not only to assist them in the moment but also to empower them with the knowledge and skills to access these services independently in the future.

Can you share a favourite memory from your time working here?

Some of my favourite memories come from witnessing the incredible progress and life-changing moments experienced by the individuals and families I support. I’ve seen a mother and son communicate for the first time using sign language—a powerful and emotional milestone. I’ve celebrated with clients who had never attended school before, watching them graduate from high school and proudly receive their diplomas. One deaf client, who once faced significant barriers, is now working successfully as an auto mechanic. I’ll never forget the smile of a client who received a power wheelchair for the first time—gaining independent mobility and a new sense of freedom. And perhaps most touching of all are the smiles of children with autism when they connect meaningfully with their parents. These moments remind me every day why this work is so important.

If you could swap jobs with anyone in the organization for a week, who would it be?

I would choose to work in the wheelchair department. I’m curious to see how they process applications and maintain the equipment. Mobility devices, especially wheelchairs, make a huge difference in the lives of our clients. When we’re able to provide someone with a power wheelchair, for example, it can be truly life-changing. I’d love to better understand the behind-the-scenes work that goes into making that possible.

As we celebrate 75 years, can you share your aspirations or hopes on our mission towards creating an inclusive and accessible society?

As we mark 75 years of dedicated service, my hope is that we continue to grow and expand our reach—ensuring that every Manitoban with a disability has access to the support they need, no matter where they live. My aspiration is that we secure the resources necessary to meet these needs and continue moving toward a truly inclusive and accessible Manitoba for all.

Introduce yourself! One time, I was chatting with a co-worker in her office when I heard Erika coming down the hallway to introduce the new admin assistant. In a quick moment of fun, I hid behind the door and then slowly emerged to surprise her. She laughed and jokingly said that if she'd known I was there, she would have slammed the door! And since that day, she always checked behind the door every time she went to that office!

If you could swap jobs with anyone in the organization for a week, who would it be?

If I could, I’d like to swap with one of the wheelchair technicians as their work makes a difference to thousands of wheelchair users every day and I quite enjoy hands-on work.

As we celebrate 75 years, can you share your aspirations or hopes on our mission towards creating an inclusive and accessible society?

As Manitoba Possible celebrates 75 years, I look forward to our continued progress in creating a more inclusive and accessible society. With our upcoming office move to a more accessible space, I’m hopeful it will further support equal participation and opportunity for everyone, regardless of ability.

Introduce yourself! What do you do at Manitoba Possible?

I am a Vocational Rehabilitation Counsellor with the Westman Regional Office in Brandon. I have been working in this position and at this office for 25 years.

Can you share a favourite memory from your time working here?

My favourite memories are seeing the success of my clients who have reached their employment goals.
In the late 1980s Karen Lischka sat in a lecture hall at the University of Manitoba, dealing with more than the already challenging dental school.

“Becoming a dentist was something I always aspired to,” she recalls. “I was fortunate to pass all the tests and exams and was so excited to get in and pursue my path, then the wheels got pulled out from under me when I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis”

Her diagnosis of the chronic autoimmune disease had come just months into her first year in dental school. Her symptoms were severe—causing intense pain, swelling and stiffness in the small bones in her hands and feet. Her education became far tougher than she’d imagined.

“At that time there weren’t many options in terms of management,” she remembers. “There were nights I’d get home from school and would need help from my parents to just change or even get up the stairs.”

The University of Manitoba’s student accessibility services worked with Karen to provide accommodations for her courses, like additional time on exams, which required extensive handwriting. That’s also where she found out about funding available from Manitoba Possible—then known as Society for Manitobans with Disabilities—to help students with disabilities with the cost of tuition, course materials, books and travel expenses.

“Dental school was very challenging. It was painful. There were times I had to leave class and go to bathroom and shed a tear or two. It was a difficult road, and it took a lot of my energy just to finish,” she says. “The funding I received took a lot of stress off trying to pay for my education. That’s how I managed to get through."

Dr. Lischka graduated, established her practice, and has dedicated the past 34 years to serving her community as a dentist. With advancements in medication, she has been in remission for the past 15 years.

“As I go through life I realize how fortunate I am to do what I do. Part of that is due to Manitoba Possible, so this is my opportunity to give back.”

In honour of the support she once received, she is now donating $50,000 to Manitoba Possible’s Dr. Karen Lischka Vocational Support Grant, helping students with disabilities achieve their goals just as she did.

“We are immensely grateful to Dr. Lischka for her incredible generosity, supporting post-secondary students in our vocational rehabilitation program,” says Alyssa Wiebe, Manager of Rural Services and Adult Vocational Rehabilitation. “Her gift will remove barriers to education and provide opportunities for more students to pursue their career aspirations.”

Dr. Lischka, who plans to continue working for years to come, is deeply committed to creating more equitable access to education for all Manitobans. Her contribution reflects her belief in the transformative power of education for growth and opportunity.

“Education is important because it allows individuals to gain independence. You have all levels of disability but there's always ability,” she says. “I think when you're faced with a disability you may think ‘This is a roadblock, and I have to stop.’ But you can keep going.”

Dr. Karen Lischka’s Journey from Student to Supporter

Building an Inclusive Community Together

At Manitoba Possible, we’re building a community where Manitobans with

At Manitoba Possible, we’re working to create a community where Manitobans with disabilities can connect, try new things, and find support.

For Janelle-Marie Emond, Manitoba Possible became a place to reconnect with her lifelong love of dance. When she was diagnosed with Lipedema 2021, she worried that the joy dance brought her might be lost.

“When I got sick, one of my first thoughts after being told I needed a wheelchair was ‘How am I going to be able to dance?’” she recalls.

Through Manitoba Possible’s All Abilities Dance, Janelle-Marie rediscovered dance in a whole new way.

“I learned to how to dance in a chair and use my body differently – I absolutely love it.”

The All Abilities Dance program isn’t just about dance—it’s about creating a space where everyone feels included and valued. Dancers explore movement and self-expression in a way that’s accessible to all.

And as Janelle-Marie discovered, the program isn’t just a dance class; it’s a welcoming community she didn’t realize was possible.

"When I got sick, I felt disconnected from the world and my friends at the time,” she says. “As I started to come to different events and meeting new people, I realized there's so much more for me.”

Every year, Manitoba Possible offers over 1,500 hours of inclusive recreation and accessible sports to 680 children, youth and adults with disabilities, creating a community for individuals to connect and try new activities through programs funded by the community’s support.

Thomas sits in his living room surrounded by his favourite toys, his parents nearby cheering him on. A wide grin lights up his face as a container of colourful pom poms is placed before him.

With a quick toss, Thomas sends the pom poms flying, eliciting cheers from the room. His mom, Patrice, swiftly retrieves the stray pom poms as Kyle, his physiotherapist, praises his reaching and grasping skills. His occupational therapist, Dallas, collects the pom poms for another round before they are once again sent flying across the room.

“He always has a big smile when they come,” says Thomas’ mom, Patrice. “It doesn’t feel clinical because it’s just playing around. They always bring a nice variety of toys and it’s more fun than it is clinical.”

Kyle and Dallas are part of Manitoba Possible’s Provincial Outreach Therapy for Children (POTC) program. As a physiotherapist, Kyle works with Thomas on his large muscle movements for strength, mobility and range of motion. As an occupational therapist, Dallas supports the development of essential skills for everyday activities. Thomas also receives Speech-Language Pathology services from the program, working towards building his overall communication skills.

For three years, the team of therapists have worked side by side, visiting four-year-old Thomas both at home and at his preschool. They collaborate closely with his family, his educators and other support workers.

“Since we’ve started, he’s gotten a lot better at lifting his head up when sitting on the floor and on my lap, especially if he hears someone coming. When he gets excited, he gets so good at it,” Patrice says. “When you don’t have a disabled child, you sometimes take these things for granted, so seeing him grab things and lift his head is just so nice because he’s very happy about it and it’s nice to see him excel.”

Each visit is unique, tailored to Thomas’ evolving needs and goals. Today, Thomas is engaged in activities in his living room, centered around playful interactions with his favourite toys. He also takes a few minutes to try activities in his adaptive seating.

Manitoba Possible’s POTC program is funded by the Province of Manitoba and includes a team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists who visit children in their homes, preschools, and communities, ensuring they are supported in familiar environments.

At Thomas’ preschool, Kyle and Dallas team up with teachers and support workers to ensure he’s fully involved in classroom activities. They provide helpful suggestions for stretches and equipment use to ensure comfort during class and offer guidance on fostering interactions with peers.

“Manitoba Possible’s mission is to eliminate barriers to full and equal participation.
Despite submitting countless job applications, Michael was met with a disheartening lack of response.

“I handed out my resume to pretty much every business in town with no reply back” he recalls.

Michael, a member of the Sapotaweyak Cree Nation, had recently relocated from Winnipeg to Thompson to be closer to his family. In the meantime, he worked alongside his father and brother at their summer camp to earn an income.

“I was doubting whether I’d ever find a job. I finally found this program and Mansi helped me out big time. She helped me get my drive back and get me back on track with things,” he says.

Mansi is an Employment Development Specialist with Manitoba Possible’s Rural Remote Supportive Employment (RRSE) program, helping Manitobans who face barriers to employment prepare for and find employment.

This new program—funded by the Government of Canada’s Opportunities Fund Program for Persons with Disabilities—expands upon Manitoba Possible’s Northern Employment Preparation services.

Employment development specialists like Mansi tailor support to the specific needs of each community, ensuring individuals receive personalized assistance in pre-employment counselling, resume and cover letter development, interview skills coaching, and ultimately, job placement.

“Michael worked hard, through a lot of hurdles,” says Mansi. “Now, not only is he employed, but his new boss is ecstatic, telling me, ‘We need more Michaels!’”

The main goal of the program is to give individuals living in remote or northern communities the skills, education, resources, and support they need to successfully join or rejoin the workforce. The program also extends support to employers, equipping them with guidance and resources to address their specific labour needs. Many Northern Manitobans face challenges in navigating available resources and services due to their remote location. RRSE serves as a guide, helping individuals navigate complex service systems, disability accommodations and employment opportunities through a personalized approach that is tailored to the unique needs of individuals living in remote or northern regions.

“When individuals with disabilities are empowered to participate in the workforce, it not only benefits them individually, but also strengthens communities as a whole,” says Alyssa Wiebe, Manitoba Possible’s Rural Program Manager. “Our hope with expanding the program is that it leads to increased employment rates, economic growth, and community engagement in remote and northern regions, creating more resilient and diverse communities.”

For Michael, securing employment marks a significant milestone, enabling him to reciprocate the support he received from his family.

“Now I can start paying them back. Start doing what I wanted to do from the beginning,” he says. “This job helped me and now I can help out my family who have helped me.”

Supportive Employment Program Provides Tailored Guidance in the North

Northern Open Houses in Dauphin and Thompson

Join us this October and explore the opportunities we offer at Manitoba

It all began with a remarkable coincidence.

Jeff Appelt had just hopped into his car to drive to his other Appelt’s Diamonds store. The radio was tuned to a station he didn’t usually listen to, broadcasting an interview about Manitoba Possible’s urgent need for a new recreation and leisure van. Just the day before, Jeff’s father, Bert Appelt, had told him about the organization’s plea for support.

The timing felt too perfect to ignore.

“At first I thought, ‘what a coincidence,’ but I don’t believe in coincidences—I knew I had to do something,” Jeff recalled.

Manitoba Possible’s van had been hit while parked on the side of the road, leaving it undriveable. Insurance didn’t come close to covering the cost of a replacement.

“My dad had heard the story and shared it with me because it’s near and dear to his heart.”

Jeff’s commitment to inclusion runs deep. Making the phone call to purchase the van was an easy decision. His grandfather had a disability resulting from polio, and at the time, accessible sport opportunities weren’t available.

“My dad always envied when he saw other dads playing with kids and he couldn’t,” he says.

This personal history instilled in Jeff a profound understanding of the importance of equal access to recreation and leisure opportunities. Jeff’s $50,000 donation enabled the procurement of a new van just in time for the busy sledge hockey season.

“We were desperate to find a way to keep our season going,” says Jaylene Irwin, Program Manager of Recreation, Leisure and Accessible Sport at Manitoba Possible. “When he called, I was completely stunned and emotional. Thanks to Jeff’s support, we can keep running programs that mean the world to our participants. It’s made a huge difference for so many people in our community.”

Manitoba Possible provides recreation and accessible sports opportunities to more than 680 children, youth, and adults every year, ranging from sledge hockey and power wheelchair hockey to wheelchair curling and summer camps. Jeff’s donation ensures that essential equipment can reach these programs, so nobody has to sit on the sidelines.

“I announced the donation at Appelt’s Diamonds Christmas party and the response was overwhelming,” says Jeff. “One staff member was very familiar with Manitoba Possible because their child uses the services. She was quite emotional about it. Another person came up to tell me how much it meant because a close family member had benefited from their work. You don’t realize the impact until you hear things like that.”

Providing inclusive recreation and accessible sports opportunities to communities across the province is no easy feat. We cannot do it alone. We are incredibly grateful to Jeff and Appelt’s Diamonds for helping us create an inclusive and accessible society for all.

“I know 100% my grandfather would be very proud of me, of the company, and what we’ve done with it,” says Jeff. “He would be very proud that we’re living his legacy and what he stood for. That means a lot to me. I’ve felt so many times that he’s looking at me, smiling, and saying, ‘good job.’”

Driving Inclusion Forward
